BAGGRUND
Ragnhild Joest Harbeck er billedkunstner og arbejder med maleri, installationskunst, objekter, digital kunst og grafiske tryk.
Efter gymnasiet fulgte ophold på Holbæk Kunsthøjskole og på Aalborg Kunstskole.
Senere uddannede hun sig som grafisk designer med en overbygning i multimediedesign, og har siden suppleret med ophold på Ærø Kunsthøjskole.
Ragnhild Joest Harbeck har udstillet bredt på både censurerede og kuraterede udstillinger, heriblandt Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (KE), Kunstnernes Påskeudstilling (KP) og Kunstnernes Sommerudstilling (KS).
Hun har desuden været repræsenteret på Art CPH, Kunsthal Nord, Hjørring Kunstmuseum, Øksnehallen, samt en række kunstforeninger og gallerier i Danmark, herunder Galleri Wolfsen.
Blikkets dans på fladen
Ragnhild Joest Harbeck arbejder inden for maleriets felt og udforsker det skiftende rum mellem det figurative og det abstrakte.
Hendes værker, udført i akryl og mixed media på lærred, træ og papir, undersøger dialogen mellem form og flydende bevægelse, klarhed og sanselighed.
Linjer og buer strækker sig ud over billedets kant og fortsætter videre ud i rummet – som en del af en tilstedeværelse i en større, uendelig strøm.
Med en særlig følsomhed over for bevægelse og rytme indfanger hun de flygtige øjeblikke, hvor perception og følelse mødes.
Penselens spor samler små sansninger – lys, åndedræt og tid – i lagdelte, vibrerende flader.
Hendes praksis bevæger sig mellem det bløde, taktile, pastose og den skarpe, rensende linje – som et pendul mellem det sanselige og det præcise.
Hvert maleri bliver en undersøgelse af, hvordan øjet danser over fladen, og hvordan noget udefinerbart kortvarigt kan tage form.

BACKGROUND
Ragnhild Joest Harbeck is a visual artist working across painting, installation, objects, digital art, and graphic prints.
After completing high school, she attended Holbæk Kunsthøjskole and Aalborg Kunstskole.
She later trained as a graphic designer with an additional year in multimedia design and has since continued her studies at Ærø Kunsthøjskole.
Ragnhild Joest Harbeck has exhibited widely at both juried and curated exhibitions, including Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (KE), Kunstnernes Påskeudstilling (KP), and Kunstnernes Sommerudstilling (KS).
Her work has also been presented at Art CPH, Kunsthal Nord, Hjørring Kunstmuseum, Øksnehallen, as well as in numerous art associations and galleries throughout Denmark, including Galleri Wolfsen.
The Dance of the Gaze Across the Surface
Ragnhild Joest Harbeck works within the field of painting, exploring the shifting space between the figurative and the abstract.
Her works, created in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, wood, and paper, trace the dialogue between form and fluidity, clarity and sensuality.
Lines and curves extend beyond the edge of the painting, continuing into the surrounding space — as part of a presence within a larger, infinite flow.
Guided by an attunement to movement and rhythm, she captures fleeting moments where perception and emotion converge.
Her brushwork gathers subtle sensations — fragments of light, breath, and time — into layered, resonant surfaces.
Her practice moves between the soft, tactile, impasto and the sharp, cleansing line — like a pendulum between the sensual and the precise.
Each painting becomes an exploration of how the eye dances across a surface, and how something indefinite may briefly take form.
